‘Challenges挑战’是为他们做的一个在线的具有实验性和启发性的交流平台，供设计师、社会学家等去思考，去交流、通过设计去解决一些社会问题。是对设计师的挑战，也迎合了What Design Can Do设计能做什么的主题。
“To create an online community platform. An experimental and inspirational space to think, to discuss, and to act on social and cultural design problems”
After four successful events, the annual conference What Design Can Do (WDCD) feels the need to expand its reach to a permanent online platform. A community medium, which activates the conference’s growing archive and offers a social platform for discussions related to WDCD’s themes, challenges and guests. The platform is decidedly thought as a medium for exchange, between the conference and its guests on the one hand, and an engaged audience of designers, students, policy makers and active citizens on the other: an online Challenge Lab. Today the WDCD conference is an inspiring event during which guests from a great diversity of backgrounds and from all over the world present their contributions to design. Whereas the event is primarily a showcase, the online Challenge Lab should grow into a thriving network of participations, which in part can carry on meetings that have taken place during the conference. An experimental space to think, to discuss, to act on innovative approaches to persistent social and cultural design problems, the Challenge Lab is a social medium, which facilitates maximum engagement and exchange between participants – a community of active change agents.
